Selection
All my puppies are special and I endeavour to make sure they end up in the best homes. Not everyone is approved because Bassets really are not for everyone.
Your Puppy
Once the puppies have arrived you will be contacted approximately 5 days after the litter arrives. A second non refundable deposit will be due at this time to confirm interest in this litter.
Things to consider...
Much time has been spent studying pedigrees, fostering friendships with fellow Basset Hound Breeders, Professional Dog Handlers, Mentors, Nutritionists, and Behaviour Specialists to ensure our puppy, your puppy is set up to have the very best life. Happy, and healthy, sound in body and mind. We at High Noon are strategic in selecting lines to ensure the best temperaments, and correct conformation.
Our breeding dogs are loved like pets, they are genetically health tested and proven in temperament and conformation to ensure an unbiased opinion is present when selecting dogs to produce our future generations.
Please remember to be patient...
Once we have confirmed a pregnancy, it feels like an incredibly long 6 week wait until I can confirm by x-ray just how many puppies we are expecting. Sometimes litters are quite large, and sometimes there may only be a singleton. The reality of dog breeding means that even though we have a better idea of how many puppies to expect, not all of them will survive. With that in mind, we ask our puppy people to have patience through this waiting, birth and first eight week stage of our puppies lives.
I am with the mom and litter almost constantly during this time to provide support. I observe, and watch closely, and we celebrate their milestones.
At High Noon, because we have spent so much time with the litter, and have gotten to know their personalities, we have the final say when it comes to puppy selection. We consider all information that was provided to us in the initial application, including your preference on sex and coat colours, but we consider the whole picture when it comes to puppy placement.
Additionally, because we are always looking to our future, sometimes we will plan to hold back a puppy from a litter to add to our program. It is traditional to only select that special puppy at 8 weeks of age.
Take a few minutes to review our contracts, and do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
